As every year, we are bringing what is new in the wedding business. Many of the wedding trends are already in the works and we are happy to tell you what can we expect from 2016 weddings.

-          3D-Floral Appliqués will make romantic gowns look increasingly modern

-          Printed floral gowns for luxurious and fashion forward brides

-          Feathers as an unique detail

-          Crochet Lace

-          Off-the-shoulder, open-back wedding dresses

-          Wedding Dress Separates – modern, chic and a bit sexy in the most elegant way

-          Not to forget grooms – many fashion forward grooms are changing jackets for the reception or refreshing their look with a different bow-tie

BRIDESMAIDS

-          mismatched bridesmaids – ladies choose their own dresses in color and style that flatter their bodies

-          separate bridesmaids – great way to play with the palette by using different color tops and skirts

FLOWERS

-          Just picked flowers – whatever is in season, whatever is local

-          Loose, organic florals, free-form bouquets – for elegant, but unfussy design

-          An ombre effect – tone-on tone colors

-          Vibrant colors

-          All tables need not to look the same – mix up the centerpieces

-          Return to high floral arrangements

-          Non-floral centerpieces – succulents, potted trees, lavender sprigs, blooming branches

COLOURS, DESIGN AND DÉCOR

-          Rose gold and copper. Rose gold will show up on everything. Even the food and drink, with shiny blush icings on desserts and rose cocktails. In general, metallic are versatile, elegant and whimsical

-          Neutral palettes black, gray and more neutral colors – simplicity

-          Organic elements – cork, stone, woodland-themed florals and decor – lot of greenery and sticks or wood slices

-          The best and simple way to establish romantic mood and ambience is lighting – chandeliers, candelabras or Edison bulbs

-          Barns – still strong venue trend

-          Prints and patterns – table linens with prints are perfectly easy to work with design-wise

-          Rich color and jewel tone, from deep red to dark green and blue

-          Large round tables are more and more often replaced by either very long or a mix of long tables, surrounded by smaller square/round tables to make intimate ambience. Significant part takes also lounge area for cocktail and after party.

OTHER

-          pets – more and more often we can see that couple´s pet take part in the wedding

-          smaller weddings – trend for those, who want thero day to be significant by sharing it with those who truly love and know you as a couple

-          after party – instead of traditional departure at the end of reception let´s continue the party at the after party

-          personalisation – now more then ever, couples display their tastes and interests – serving cake done by grandma, friends singing at the ceremony

-          Wedding scrum – we already use with some of you google docs to involve others into the planning

-          A bit about technologies – no matter how do you like it, technologies are big part of our lives. Interactive centerpieces showing pics instead of flowers, live social media displays – you need to ask yourself if this is something that helps you or going to be just a shiny distraction. Many couples are hiring web designer to create customized website.

Hope you enjoyed this article and as I always say – the trends are just to get an idea, most important is to stay as you are and do the wedding the way you feel is the best.

Looking forward to all weddings that are coming this year!

With love, Andrea

Amy and Mike

I am sure you already know that we have “weakness” for Asian weddings. Couples are always very stylish, choose beautoiful flowers and go for nice venues.

Such an occassion was also wedding of Amy and Mike who got married last year. Ceremony at Vetbovska garden, followed by horse and carriage ride, boat trip and later cocktail and reception at Alchymist hotel was guarantee of great success.

I as very pleased to be invited as a guest to their reception and really enjoyed it – food, champagne, delicious cake, amazing guests – it all made my day very happy.

Their day was captured by Commephoto and hope you will enjoy it too.

Jenny and Robin

Good morning,

just to tell you little story about first wedding this year. The seasons started great, we all had really good time with Jenny and Robin.

Jenny is Greek, but she lives with her husband Robin in Manchester. And Robin´s mum was born in Philippiness, so this was very nice mix of guests.

The couple was hoping for snow white wedding, but althought it snowed on Wed before, Saturday, January 10th was the warmest day of the month :-) . Sun was shining and we took many nice pictures.

We especially loved Jennny´s 50´style dress and headpiece, as well as men wearing kilt (also guys from Greece!). Ladies wore wristlet on a ribbon and headband in scottish theme. Very pretty.

Historical Old Town Hall was chosen for the ceremony, couple then left for photography around Prague and guests enjoyed welcome drink at Villa Richter. We booked one of their rooms for private lunch.

Couple wanted to entertain guests before they arrive, so caricaturist tok a picture of everyone and at the end didn´t forget on a teddy of sweet little guest.

Lot of champagne, wine and great food – that was the lunch of happy newlyweds. To continue with black and white theme, we arranged black and white sweet bar and flower decor. Just wedidng cake was  bit different – Jenny and Robin got engaged at Alfons Mucha muzeum, so theme was art niveau. So yummy!

Farnosh and Arild

Farnosh and Arild is couple we enjoyed from the first moment. Couple who loves each other so much, couple that creates amazing family together with their 3 children. The youngest, sweet Estelle Leona was born short after we started to plan everything.

They live in Norway, but are originally from other countries, so the wedding was beatiful mix of Norwegian, Sri Lanca and Iranian guests.

Arild arrived first with his best friend to choose the location. He was deciding between Villa Richter and Carlo IV Boscolo hotel, lovely places wth completelly different design and concept. He falled in love with the luxury of the Boscolo, but also with the view and style of Villa Richter. Nothing was then easier then to use Villa Richter for pre-wedding dinner and Boscolo hotel for wedding day. Second pre-wedding visit was already with Farnosh and their youngest daughter to go more to the details – taste the food, pick flowers, talk to the officiator etc.

The wedding colours were black and white with touch of pink. Ceremony was hold at beautiful lobby, with lot of gold accents, so the flowers there were more rich and flowers at Opera hall, which was used for evening dinner and party, were very minimalistic. Villa Richter was decorated with flowers in happy summer tones.¨

Friday evening started with drink at Boscolo hotel and historical tram was used for the transport to Villa Richter. The tram stopped at Prague castle and guests enjoyed walk through the castle. 3-course menu together with great music performance, couple speaches and around midnight was time to go.

Farnosh spent her morning with her friends, enjoying hair and make-up and champagne. Children were in good hands of granparents, so also Arild relaxed with friends :-) . We already started to cry when when we saw their son Caspian to deliver rose and love message to Farnosh from Arild…

Everyone cried when Farnosh entered the lobby with bridesmaids and children. They all looked so pretty! It was so emotional, especially for Arild. Classical string quartet accompanied the ceremony, Arild´s sister as a sweet surprise sang a song, while palying piano. Song Happy by Colin Pharrell played at the end.

At 5 pm guests met again in the lobby for cocktail. Lot of fun was also thanks to the Smilebox, everyone enjoyed that. Guests also signed wishing tree and babysitters helped with the children, string quartet was again performing great songs from classical to Metallica, James Bond or Mission Impossible.

Dinner followed about 2 hours later and important part played speaches. We also loved the norwegian tradition – whenever one of the couple left for a moment, all men or women came to the head table to kiss the bride or groom. So many kisses!
