Monika and Jeremiah

We couldn´t wait to the wedding of Monika and Jeremiah. Stylish and nice couple that lives in Canada, althought Monika is originally from Germany and Jeremiah from Pakistan.

From the beginning of our cooperation we knew that this wedding will be very special. It was important to incorporate German and Pakistani traditions, together with the atmosphere of Prague.

At the beginning we discussed everything online, choose the venues and vendors and after few months couple arrived to Prague. Still remember their cool look and outfits! We visited florist, photographer, church and Zofin for reception, arranged all the tastings and choose hotels.

Almost 9 months of planning beginning of October was here. Many things for the wedding came from Canada. Monika and Jeremiah endless took amazing effort on creating all the stationery, everything was perfectly prepared, from frames with family pictures to the little tiny details like cover of sparkles.

First day started with so called Polterabend / Rasm-E-Hina, which took place on one of the Prague boats. Guests were welcomed by flower bracelets and few minutes after departure Francis, MC, introduced to the guests and explained all the traditions for that night. By the sound of cool music entered first groom with his party, followed by bride and bridesmaids. Monika and Jeremiah were dressed in amazing Pakistani gowns. Pakistani traditions, like Mehindi and oil, were followed by the dinner and after that German traditions, like break of the plate (which is also czech tradition) were shown to the guests. Dancing couldn´t miss and after 2 hours boat finished and guests went to bed to get ready for next day.

Second, main wedding day, started at 11.00 a.m. at St. Nicholas church. Father of the groom, who used to serve in the church in Pakistan, made the service together with our local priest, to make it more personal. Everything was perfectly prepared, from the welcome table with cool silver crown (the symbol of the wedding), petals and programms, to the exact positions of bridesmaids and best men. String quartet was combined with the organs and candles created great atmosphere. Couple wore traditional wedding gown.

End of the ceremony wasn´t arranged in classical way – we took all the guests around the corner outside the church and gave them confettio for happy couple. After that another german tradition was prepared – axe cutting. Believe noone has ever seen it at the Old Town Square. All guests received small bottle of sparkling wine for a toast and couple enjoyed their first dance (string quartet moved outside in the meantime). Horse and carriage was already waiting for couple and  guests took a break for a few hours.

Cocktail was served in the gazebo of the back part of Zofin, decorated by balloons, flowers and many other things. Not to forget – we prepared to all events welcome table with the crown and welcome sign, at gazebo were added also big balloons, vases for bouquets and card box. Dessert table was decorated by flowers, little funny props like bride and groom in carriage, Laduree macaroon tower and pakistani sweets Methai. Kate Spade knife was a must! MC again welcomed everyone and talked about the program. Monika and Jeremiah changed the clothes to the traditional pakistani, Monika looked like a princess! They cut the cake, which was done by the parents of the bride. On each table were little chocolates, bubbles and also advice cards for the newlyweds. Photo corner with Polaroid and different props was used all the time. Sisters of bride and groom took speach and it was followed by bouquet toss.

Wedding reception took place at Small hall at Zofin, which was decorated by amazing flowers and candles. Couple decided for one long table – it was superb! Guests entered into the dark room, where just candles were lit. MC again welcomed them and told about the program. 2 movies were presented on a projector – first one was The journey of two lives. We dodn´t even know how many things was Jeremiah filming during the site inspection! Couple entered the hall at exact part of the movie. Parents blessed the food and dinner started. Couple wanted buffet, but first course was already on the table, so guests didn´t have to leave their tables. A couple more toasts followed dinner and also 2nd movie was presented – A journey of KCFairytale – hashtag used during the whole celebration. Before first dance also couple had their speach and after that people enjoyed dancing. End of the night was also classy – guests got sparkles and waved happy couple.
