Monica and Jesse

Monica and Jesse did contact us year ago and from the first moment we liked them. Monica has italian origins and she is really pretty woman. And Jesse is great. They have already lovely boy, lots of friends, so we could expect perfect party, especially most of the guests were coming from USA and Italy.

Thery had couple vernues in their mind and wished to have locatio where they could hold both ceremony and reception.  In a few days we arranged skype call and agreed on Sacre Couer – lovely place that used to be chapel nd nowadays is used for ceremonies, receptions, parties,  for all kind of occasions. All was prepared, so we just send the contract and planing could start.

Our lovely colleague Tereza was in charge of this wedding and what I have heard, they had lot of fun during the planning.

The main goal wass to create a day, when everyone will feel comfortable and enjoys lots of good food and drinks – and DANCING.

First draft for flowers was purple, but Monica changed her mind and flower theme was mix of purple shades, cream and greenery. Sacre Couer is very unique space, with lots of gold, so we decided not to use chair covers, just golden chairs, that fit perfectly there.

Also not being traditional, Monica and Jesse decided to go with the buffet instead of traditional menu. The dinner is less formal, but everyone can  find its own taste. And with Zatisi catering it is never mistake.

Next step was accommodation –couple preferred that they all stayclose to each other, so we hired for them lovely apartments, all close to each other. This was very appreciated, especially they were all staying around the Old Town Square, in the centre of fun.

What else – we hired DJ for couple and also some additional lightings to creat special atmosphere in the evening.

As always, time was running fast and September was here. Lovely little boy of Monica and Jesse did accomany us to the paperwork, but it was very fast, and before he got asleep, we were done. When we cam to Sacre Couer, Monica and Jesse realized it is a bit far away from the apartments and decided to use transport for all guests. Even it was on a last minute, we hired for them 2 minibuses who picked guests  from the apartments and brought them back again at the end of the night.

Monica and Jesse looked already perfect while the planning, but reality was much better – lovely beautiful couple, always smiling and positive!

For the second time this year we used Lokal for pre-wedding dinner to give to the guests a chance to taste typical czech food. It was a good success at both weddings.

Wedding day was here – our amazing photographer Stepan Vrzala arrived in the morning to capture groom and his party and then moving to bridal party. Already from the first pictures we could see it would be funny day. We really loved groom´ socks and also little boy was so cute in his little suit!

Photo: Stepan Vrzala

Hair and make-up artist in the meantime stayed i Monica´s apartment and helped all ladies to look fabulous. Monica chose lovely lace dress, white shoes with I do on the bottom :-) . Her bouquet was made from roses in a mix of pale shades.

Photo: Stepan Vrzala

Minibuses picked guests an hour before the ceremony and brought them to Sacre coer, where they enjoed first drink before the ceremony. Monica was escorted by historical Bentley. Chapel was prepared for ceremony, which was really nice, especially thanks to little son who took so many pictures of his parents while standing at the altar :-) .

Photo: Stepan Vrzala

After the ceremony guests enjoyed drinks and in the meantime  caterer changed the set-up with the round tables. Each table had tall candelabrat with flowers and candles. It looked very good at the chapel with such a high ceilings.

We all agreed that Monica and Jesse made the funniest portraits this season. From every picture we could see  the joy and love.

Well, guests got hungry and there was time to opne buffet after the speaches. Kids did really enjoy chocolate fountain. Monica and Jesse cut the cake later on and party could continue. Not only pinkish lighting motivated guests to wonderful dance creations :-) Oh, there was so much fun….you can feel it from the pics.

Zofin palace and garden

Another place we really love and organise there every year many weddings.

Zofin palace – Stepan Vrzala

Why? For a couple reasons:

-          excellent location in the city centre, on the island, with river view

-          nice tent that can be used in all weather conditions

-          2 fabulous halls, one for up to 120 and another for up to 800 people

-          Lovely space in front of the buiding, perfect for summer cocktails

-          And last – amazing  people, always helpful

Zofin palace

Photo: Stepan Vrzala

There are many options how to enjoy your wedding day at Zofin. You can have wedding ceremony in the garden, there is lovely gazebo and your guests can either sit there (I would say up to 40 people) or we can place chairs down to the tent and everyone will see the bride and groom on the top. After the ceremony you can enjoy cocktail in front of the building  or in the park and in the meantime waiters can change the set up and put there round tables. We did organise there wedding for more then 200 people with this scenario and it worked perfect.

Photo – Stepan Vrzala

Another option is small hall, located on the ground floor with the capacity up to 120 people. Unlike the garden you must pay rentak fee for the Small hall, but your award will be lovely classic function hall with high ceiling.

Amazing place is their Big hall on the first floor. It has capacity up to 800 people, but this year we did organise there Reception for around 200 people and it looked fab. Really high ceilings, lovely chandelier and big stage make this space unforgetable. Perfect for those who would like big orchestra and stylish banquet.

Food – what to say – delicious! Zatisi catering belongs to the top in Prague and they offer wide range of food from traditional czech to asian, fusion cuisine. They have really wide selection of tableclothes, modren or traditional china, silver cuttlery or a few type of glasses.

Photo: Stepan Vrzala

We can not forget to mention great people working  there, always smiling and positive, able to solve any problem. We love all of them ,but Radka and Martin Voboril are on the top. Should you wish dream wedding in the centre of Prague, go ahead.

Wedding Trends 2013

Season of 2012 is finishing and we are preparing weddings for the next year. Not all brides follow all trends at their wedding, they know what they like and prefer their own style, but it is always good to know what will be in fashion and get inspired.

2012 year was influenced by royal wedding and brought back into the scene glamour and luxury. As the economy bounces back, we can see more luxury details at the weddings. Also vintage style continued, people are more informed about the trends and exposed to many creative wedding ideas. Some of our weddings followed Katie´s style, some of them preferred vintage chic.

What we especially love about our brides – they do what they love and are not tied by any rules. They include things they feel connected to, choose what works for them best and do not stress about the rest. Couples want their wedding to reflect their personality and style. 2013 is gonna be about self expression, customization and personalization. Each wedding is unique and we do appreciate it a lot!

What are the trends for upcoming season?

Backdrops

Behind the head table, for the photobooth or at the altar, backdrop creates special atmosphere. It can be used in endless ways – canvas, pompons, girlands hanging down, it all looks great.

Bark

As most of our weddings are intown, we do not use bark much, but we have to mention it as a continuing wedding trend. Great for rustic outside weddings.

Bark wedding invitation

Birds

We love birds! Hanging them on the trees, making small origami birds as a name card, these are all so cute ideas. Bird houses as a card bixes were also seen at so many weddings this year and this cute trend will continue.

Braided hair

Our lovely asian brides brought the style of braided hair, which will continue in 2013 as well There are variety of ways to wear braids and as mentioned above brides look stunning with braids!

Color dress

Wedding dress has to look like wedding dress, but doesn´t necessarily need to be white or cream. Not everyone looks nice in whtie and you can find the right dress for your skin colour. Bridal blush, oxblood, heavenly blue – what you prefer…

Colours

Pale blush tones were on the top of colours, but we also made lovely decor with purple only. Tangerine tango is colour that goes perfectly with teal. This is perfect combination for summer amd fall weddings and looks great outside. Your guests will love it! Turquoise and yellow will be in, as well soft pastels and neutrals. We can also expect more neon – fun summer weddings for cheerful people. And definitelly watercolour! Anyway, we believe purple and blush tones will continue and we love it! And coloured shoes – another trend that will continue in 2013.

Design

Also DIY projects will change – couple will choose things that require bigger budget and / or time commitments. In last few years brides focused on quick and inexpensive, but it will turn to more challenging and sophisticated projects – f.e. jewelry. New decor style – Modage – was created and term trademarked by Woodson & Rummerfield’s House of Design to mean modern and vintage. Anyway, originality is always the best priority.

Fab flowers

This year we created so many amazing flowers desings and we belive this trend will continue! Soft shaed of yellow mixed with gray, romantic look created by pastels and just-picked from the garden summer look will be in fashion. Also you can choose from hot pink peonies or lush coral colours, tulips, ranunculus and garden roses, which comes in many colours. Flowers will be incorporated by fruits, suculents, berries and lotf of pretty ribbons.

Fun factor

Not only dancing until the morning, but also fun at food – cute sweet bars, ice cream stations, snack stations (f.e. DIY pop corn). Couples will also bring more fun to their party by using live event artists, dance instructors, karaoke or magicians. People love photobooth and also think about original guests book – f.e. bench to sign…

Garlands and pompons

We love it! Hanging in the tent, on the trees, always make venue cheerful. Not to forget to mention pennants and buntings! It doesn´t have to be placed across the ceiling only, how about placed them vertically, wrap around the pillars? And material – think about photos, maps, fabric flowers, jewels.

Mint

Mint colour was seen often at the spring fashion shows and it is definitelly colour to be considered. It can be ised in many ways – dresses, flowers, invitations, but also signature cocktails, cakes and wedding favors.  Tip – combine mint with coral.

Mixing

Mixing is a trend in general – brides do not want their bridesmaids to look the same, mix centrepieces, patterns and textures.

Paper lanterns

Another inexpensive, but amazing wedding decor. They make wedidng tent or any other ceiling, as well as floor eye catching. You can create an aisle, hing them in clusters, use different sizes, shape, colours. They look also nice with pompons.

Pattern and prints

We love polka dots! They trully add a bit of fun to the wedding. Also floral and graphic prints will be seen often on table runners, bridesmaids dresses, men´s ties. Also think about chevron – modern version of art deco in bright colours.

The 1920´s

Vintage trend continues to be hot, so stylish headpieces or deco patterns will be definitelly seen also next year. 2012 weddings did reflect the world economy with lots of DIY projects, but 2013 brides will get inspired by old glamour world. We are looking forward to have it back into the weddings!

Final word – we can´t wait for new season :-) .

Vanee and Miller

Vanee and Miller – another great couple from Hong Kong who got marrried in Prague. We were really proud to meet this really good looking and always smiling people.

Photo: Lukas Konarik

Vanee did contact us in March this year, so pretty short time in advance. They wanted to get married in June and their original request was civil ceremony in the church. It is not that easy and June is also peak season here, so after few emails  they decided for another solution – civil ceremony at Vrtbovska garden, followed by blessing at lovely St. Nicholas church.

Photo: Lukas Konarik

As time is always running fast, first important matter was the paperwork. However Vanee and Miller made it really fast and the papers were in Prague really soon. In the  meantime hotel was booked, airport trransfer arranged and we could focus on more funny things like hair and make-up and flowers. There are a few really good stylists in Prague who have, mamy experiences with Asian brides, so Vanee decided based on their previous work and recommendations.

Photo: Lukas Konarik

We really enjoy working with Lukas Konarik, great photographer, who was booked also for Vanee and Miller, as well as Mr, Kocka from Videocam, who both captured ceremonies.

Photo: Lukas Konarik

First thing after arrival to Prague was finishing the paperwork at the foreign police and registry office. We started early in the morning, but it was worth – we were done within 2 hours with the offices and also met the officiator to go through the civil ceremony. Unfortunatelly due to the car accident the priest had to move church rehearsal to next day, but it didn´t matter that much – couple could relax a bit before hair and make-up trial in the afternoon.

Photo: Lukas Konarik

The next day in the morning we met the priest to discuss ceremony in detail. That was all and couple could get married on Friday :-) .

Photo: Lukas Konarik

Kamila, the stylist, came to the hotel at 10 a.m. and they spend nice 2 hours together. Wedding coordfinator arrived to the hotel at noon, as well as photo and camera guys. At 12.30 car stopped in fron of the hotel and took couple to Vrtbovska garden. Vanee looked amazing in her first dress, very classy and stylish. Wedding ceremony starte dat 1.00 p.m. and took around 20 minutes. Couple had then an hour for the pictures in this lovely garden, and after that car tooked them back to the Old Town Square, to St. Nicholas church.

Photo: Lukas Konarik

Photo: Lukas Konarik

It is feeling that makes you really focus on the ceremony when you are just alone in the church. Vanee and Miller had very private blessing there, starting at 3.00 p.m. and followed by another set of pics.

Photo: Lukas Konarik

Photo: Lukas Konarik

Happy couple did enjoy horse and carriage ride after the ceremony and finished at their hotel – it was time for Vanee to change the dress and refresh hair and make-up . They did continue with Lukas for another set of pictures around the Old Town. Later on Vanee took lovely little black dress and finished the photosession, because table at Golden Well restaurant was already wiating for them – of course on the terrace with an amazing view!
